School Visits

B&O Railroad Museum

Your classroom will love to learn about the fascinating history of pets in the White House or about a remarkable race from 1830.

As a teacher myself, I love to give talks and workshops that fully engage kids of all ages. Before my current role teaching writing classes at Marymount University and the Writer's Center in Bethesda, I taught third grade in Fluvanna County and Albemarle County Schools. I've also held workshops for elementary and high school teachers on teaching Shakespeare as the Director of the Folger Shakespeare Student Festival Project (funded by the U.S. Department of Education).

Author visits are a great opportunity for students to learn about key element of the writing process including plotting, outlining, developing characters, and expressing one’s creativity.
